A celebration of spring, soft pastels, and a little seasonal joy
Anyone who knows me knows I love to decorate for the seasons. There’s something so joyful about marking the changes in nature with little touches around the home—it helps me feel connected, creative, and (let’s be honest) a little more in control of the chaos!
While my Easter collection isn’t quite as… extensive… as my autumn and Christmas stash (cue the sigh of relief from my husband), I am building on it year by year. And honestly, there’s something really lovely about curating pieces slowly and intentionally—finding joy in the little details.
Springtime Feels: A Fresh Start
There’s just something about this time of year. The soft pastels, the scent of fresh blooms, the promise of longer days and warmer sun—it’s the season of gentle optimism.
The garden starts to show signs of life again, the windows let in more light, and everything just feels… lighter.
That’s the feeling I try to bring indoors.
My Favourite Simple Ways to Decorate for Easter
🌼 Fresh Flowers – Always
You don’t need to overhaul your home to feel the spring magic. A simple vase of daffodils or tulips on the dining room table instantly lifts the space. I love using a clear vase or a simple white jug and letting the colour do the talking.

🐣 A Playful Egg Tree
In our living room, we have a little Easter tree. It’s such a fun tradition for little ones—I let my 4-year-old help hang the eggs (and then I might gently rearrange them once she’s in bed. Mum life + mild décor OCD = a very colourful compromise!).
It brings a playful, childlike joy into the home—and I love how it sparks excitement.
🐰 Playful Spring Touches
This year, I’ve gone a little bunny-mad—and I’m not sorry! From fluffy-eared figurines to ceramic rabbits in soft pastel shades, our home is hopping with Easter joy. I’ve dotted bunnies around the house like a cheerful treasure hunt—some peeking out from behind plant pots, others perched proudly on shelves.
Ceramic eggs decorated with bunnies and chicks add a fun springtime twist. It’s playful, it’s cheerful, and it makes the whole home feel that little bit more magical.
Easter isn’t just for the kids—decorating with a bit of whimsy brings me just as much joy.

🚪 My Favourite Spot: The Front Porch
If there’s one place I have to decorate each season, it’s my front porch. It’s the first little “hello” our home gives, and I love making it feel just as special as the inside.
For Easter, I hang a beautiful spring garland around the doorway—full of pastel flowers, delicate eggs, and a bit of greenery. A soft pastel green rug sits underneath a spring-themed doormat, setting the tone before you’ve even stepped through the door.
On either side of the front door, I place two big statement pieces: a cheerful stack of bunnies on one side and a pile of Easter eggs on the other. And of course, no seasonal porch would be complete without a string of bunting and a gorgeous Easter wreath—ours is bursting with soft colours, little blossoms, and a touch of whimsy.
It’s like a little seasonal storybook scene—and it makes me (and my daughter) smile every time we come home.
🍽️ A Whimsical Easter Tablescape
One of my favourite traditions is putting together a beautiful Easter tablescape—even if it’s just for us three. This year’s table is full of fun and floral charm, starting with a base of faux grass table runner to give a garden party feel.

I’ve layered it with foliage garlands, faux carrots, and a few dainty flowers to add that spring bloom energy. Each place setting gets its own napkin bunny (super easy to fold, and so cute!) nestled with a little chocolate treat.
It’s the perfect blend of pretty and playful—and a lovely way to make even a simple family breakfast feel special.
Decorating with Kids (Without Losing Your Sanity)
Let them join in, but give them “their space” to go wild—like painting their own Easter ornaments. That way, you keep the balance between magic and your personal style.
And if you need to move the decorations around while they sleep? That’s just good parenting 😅
Final Thoughts
Decorating for Easter doesn’t have to be about going big—it’s about capturing the joy of the season in a way that works for you. A jug of flowers, a bowl of chocolate eggs (that may or may not last the week), and a few well-placed bunnies can turn everyday spaces into something quietly magical.
So here’s to fresh starts, pastel hues, and finding joy in the little things.
With love and a sprinkle of seasonal magic,
Emma x
